Worried about pipes freezing? No need to worry any more because ATEC, the nation's leader in home safety products, has introduced the FreezeHound.

ATEC Introduces New Low Temperature Sensor
For Use With The WaterCop Emergency Water Shut-Off System

Sandy, UT – May 2002 – ATEC introduces its new FreezeHound wireless low temperature sensor that works in conjunction with the patented WaterCop system to help protect a home/business from property damage caused by frozen and burst plumbing lines. Frozen and ruptured plumbing lines cost America's homeowners hundreds of millions of dollars in damage and lost property every year.

The FreezeHound is a temperature sensor and a radio frequency transmitter that attaches directly to a water pipe to monitor its temperature. When the temperature of the pipe being monitored falls into the preset 36º-39º range the FreezeHound will transmit a signal to the WaterCop control valve located on the home's main water line and shut-off the water within the home/business. This action helps to avert a continuous flooding problem if the pipe should burst or crack.

"Frozen and burst water lines are one of the most common causes of in-home water damage. We designed the FreezeHound sensor to offer protection against this menacing problem," says Eamon J Arnett, ATEC's Vice President "Our existing WaterCop system does an excellent job of dramatically reducing the chances of catastrophic water damage caused by a plumbing related failure. In addition we can offer homeowners another piece of the puzzle in freeze protection. The FreezeHound is an excellent option for homeowners living in cold or unpredictable climates and it's especially suited to vacation homes where the property is unattended for long periods of time."

The FreezeHound is offered as an option to the WaterCop system and like the WaterHound moisture sensors, an unlimited number of these temperature sensors can be added to the system as needed. Each sensor/transmitter is backed by a two year limited warranty.
